Job Description

Position Title:             Help Desk Technician

Classification:             Full-Time: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Reports To:                 Director of Information Technology (IT)

Location:                      Fort Wayne Office

  General Statement of Responsibility:

This position is responsible for first response in answering, commenting, and replying to open incidents in the help desk. Ability to identify and organize tickets according to priority and severity. Will work with staff over email, phone, and remote sessions to resolve issues. Travel to remote locations may be required. Certain Issues can require the dismantling, upgrading, and repairing of desktops and laptops.

 Essential Functions:

  1. Identify, organize, and prioritize tickets.
  2. Trains staff on solutions to issues.
  3. Repair software and hardware issues for staff equipment. This will include dismantling and assembly of laptops.
  4. Research solutions to problems previously not encountered.
  5. Work closely and collaborate with other IT staff on other department projects.

 

 

Job Requirements

  • Associates degree and two years of experience in a similar field preferred.
  • Good customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide staff, with varying degrees of technology knowledge, outstanding care at all times.
  • Able to meet deadlines.
  • Strong aptitude in OS repair, virus removal, hardware, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to self-learn and research solutions to problems.
